In this shot we used a very dense couch cushion to demonstrate the effects of vacuum space saving compression just using garbage bags and a hand pump or vacuum. The bag used was from Rite-Aid, 33 gallon clear garbage bag, average cost 8 cents. |
The after shot shows the incredible amount of compression that’s achieved with a vacuum or hand pump. The amount of reduction or space saved is well over 75%. Included in this shot is a 16 inch inflate-deflate hand pump. |

Now we’re off to the RVs and out door life. This is a six pound sleeping bag rolled up in the conventional manner, Big, bulky, awkward and a room hog. |
The after shot shows, we have reduced its volume by 60% +/-, protected it and made it a little less awkward to carry around and store away. |

This is our preferred method of sleeping bag storage. We have folded it up like you would a big blanket or comforter. The container sitting next to it is for gauging purpose only.

There are several benefits to folding your sleeping bag up like a big comforter. As you can see we have reduced the volume by 75% or better. They now lay flat, so you can stack them on top of each other; putting 4 sleeping bags were before you only had one. They are much easier to move and carry around. |
